$5,000 return to work grant offered to women

The NSW Government has recently announced that women in New South Wales who have found themselves unemployed due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be offered back-to-work grants of up to $5,000.

The $10 million Return to Work Program is a NSW Government initiative, designed to provide tailored support to women who would like to re-enter the workforce after a period of absence.

One-off grants of up to $5,000 will be available to cover the financial obstacles that women wanting to get back into the workforce may face. These costs include:

  • education and training
  • support material for courses
  • work necessities such as specialist clothing, equipment, IT
  • transportation costs
  • childcare

Each successful applicant will be supported by a Return to Work coordinator, who will help them develop their Return to Work Plan.

Each unique Return to Work Plan will outline the agreed approach and resources needed to assist the woman in getting back to work.

If you’d like to register interest in the Return to Work program, head to the Service NSW website here and enter your name and email address, then hit submit. Service NSW will contact you when further information is available.

We are more than happy to answer any questions you may have or assist with applying for this grant on your behalf when it becomes available.
